Meet Veterinarian Matías Moguilner, the backer of Animal Cargo

At Animal Cargo, we always say that we don’t move boxes, we move family members. And for that commitment to become a reality, logistics must be backed by expertise.

Today we want to introduce you to a key member of our team:
Veterinarian Matías Moguilner, a UBA graduate with over 20 years of experience, who provides professional support and a preventative approach to every kilometer we travel.

A partnership of over 20 years built on trust.

The relationship between Matías and Favio Cangiano didn’t begin in an office, but rather in their daily work. “I met Favio over 25 years ago because of my specialization in canine reproduction,” recalls Matías. “He was just starting out transporting dogs, and I helped him in any way I could, until one day he suggested we take a trip together. That’s when I understood the dynamic and decided to focus 100% on supporting Animal Cargo.”

That friendship evolved into a safety protocol that now distinguishes our company: pet transport is about logistics and animal welfare.

The Veterinarian’s Role: “Information is Prevention”
Many believe that a veterinarian’s role in a pet transport company is simply to sign paperwork. For Matías, his most important task is to teach pet owners key points about pre-trip preparation.

“My goal is that nothing that happens with a pet is a surprise. If the owner is informed about potential problems, we can prevent them. I dedicate myself to speaking with each person who is going to make an international transport to alleviate their fears and build a relationship of trust.”

Strict Protocols: Who Travels and Who Doesn’t
Both on Animal Cargo’s international flights and on Animal Bus’s ground transportation service, Matías implements non-negotiable control points to guarantee the well-being of the animals, even in cases of delicate health:

• Animals with medical conditions: Any pet that takes anything from aspirin onward must undergo an evaluation and receive his professional approval before the trip is confirmed.

• Senior Dogs: Animals over 10 years old have a special monitoring protocol.

• Puppies: Transport of animals under 2 months old is not authorized.

• Crisis Management: In the unlikely event of a complication, Matías is the first point of contact to manage the situation with logic and professionalism.
Statistics that support the process
When we talk about safety, the numbers reflect a job well done. Over the years, Animal Cargo has transported more than 50,000 pets.

“The percentage of incidents is statistically very low,” explains Matías. “My current role is to be active 99.9% of the time, talking to people and suggesting specific preparations to ensure the best possible trip for the pet.”

We know that what matters most to you is that your best friend arrives safely.

That’s why, at Animal Cargo, professional support isn’t just a detail; it’s the foundation of everything we do.
